§ 10201 Land Assessment Cost Recovery

This law helps make sure that when the government builds things like roads or parks, the nearby landowners who benefit from them help pay for the costs.

Key Takeaways

  • •This law lets the government charge landowners for improvements that make their property more valuable.
  • •It doesn’t replace other laws—it just adds another way to pay for these projects.
  • •The goal is to make sure the people who benefit from the work help pay for it.

Example

The city builds a new park in your neighborhood.

If your home gets more valuable because of the park, you might have to pay a little extra to help cover the cost of building it.
