§ 101365 District Employee Benefits Coverage

The board has to make sure that all its officers and employees get the benefits from California's workers' comp, disability, and unemployment insurance laws.

Key Takeaways

  • •The board must cover every officer and employee.
  • •Coverage includes workers' compensation, disability, and unemployment insurance.
  • •All coverage follows California state law.

Example

A city worker slips and hurts his back while cleaning a street.

Because of this law, the board must arrange for him to receive workers' compensation benefits, and if he later can’t work because of the injury, he can also get disability or unemployment insurance as the state rules allow.
