§ 101357 Retirement System Eligibility Rules

This law says who can join the retirement plan for certain workers and how the plan is managed. It also says that both the boss and the workers' group must have an equal say in running the retirement plan.

Key Takeaways

  • •The retirement plan decides who can join based on their job.
  • •The school district and the workers' union must share control equally over the retirement plan.
  • •If workers have a union, the rules of the retirement plan must follow the agreement between the union and the school district.

Example

Imagine you work for a school district, and there's a retirement plan for teachers and staff.

This law helps decide which teachers and staff can join the retirement plan. It also makes sure that both the school district and the teachers' union have the same amount of control over how the retirement plan is run.
