§ 10103 Municipal Street Use Agreement

This law says that if one city or county wants to use a road that belongs to another city or county, it must first ask for permission and agree on where and how it will be used.

Key Takeaways

  • •You need permission before using another city’s or county’s road.
  • •Both sides must agree on the exact spot where the road will be used.
  • •Both sides must also agree on any rules or conditions for that use.

Example

City A wants to hold a street fair on Main Street, but Main Street is owned by City B.

City A has to ask City B for permission and both cities must decide exactly which part of Main Street will be used and what rules (like clean‑up or traffic control) will apply before the fair can happen.
