§ 101010 Voter Eligibility Definition

This law says a "voter" is anyone who is registered to vote and lives in the area that will become, or is now, a voting district.

Key Takeaways

  • •You must be registered to vote.
  • •You must live in the area that is being made into a district, or already lives in the district after it is made.
  • •The definition applies when the district is being formed and after it exists.

Example

A person lives in a neighborhood that the city plans to turn into a new voting district and they are already registered to vote.

Because they are registered and live in the area that will be the new district, the law counts them as a voter for that district.
