§ 100017 Vta Transit System Definition

This law tells us that the word “System” means every transit building, track, or facility that the VTA owns now or will own later, as long as it’s used for transit.

Key Takeaways

  • •“System” covers all VTA transit works and facilities.
  • •It includes things the VTA already owns or will own in the future.
  • •Only items used for transit purposes are counted.

Example

The VTA builds a new light‑rail station downtown.

Because the station is a transit facility owned by the VTA, it is part of the “System” as defined by this law.
