§ 1424 Interested Persons Definition

This law says that the term “interested person” means any government agency or any public officer or employee of state, local, or federal government.

Key Takeaways

  • •Includes any state, local, or federal agency.
  • •Includes any public officer or employee of those governments.
  • •The list isn’t closed – other similar government parties can also be “interested persons.”

Example

A state highway department wants to give input on a new road plan, and a city council member also wants to weigh in.

Both the highway department (a state agency) and the city council member (a public officer of a local government) are considered “interested persons” under this law, so they can be part of the discussion.
