§ 69 Board Meeting Procedures

The law says the board must schedule its meetings and can call special meetings with notice, but only discuss what was announced.

Key Takeaways

  • •Meetings are scheduled by the board.
  • •Special meetings need notice about the topics to be discussed.
  • •Only the listed topics can be addressed in special meetings.

Example

A community board wants to discuss a new park project. The chair calls a special meeting and sends notice that only the park project will be discussed.

The board can only talk about the park project at that meeting. If someone brings up a different topic, it's not allowed.
