Key Takeaways

  • •When a member of a veterans' home dies, their money and belongings left at the home go to their family.
  • •The home can use some of the money to pay for the member's funeral or any money they owed to the home.
  • •This rule applies to veterans, their spouses, and domestic partners who joined the home before or after January 1, 1984, depending on the specific situation.

Example
