§ 50757 Rental Housing Regulatory Agreements

Key Takeaways

  • •Rental housing that gets government help must follow special rules.
  • •The rules include who can live there and how tenants are picked.
  • •Builders must hire workers fairly and treat everyone equally.
  • •Money from rent must be handled carefully and used the right way.

Example

A company builds an apartment building with government money to help low-income families.

The company must sign an agreement saying they will only rent to people who qualify, hire workers fairly, and use the rent money properly. If they don’t follow these rules, they could lose the government help.
