§ 4871 County Sewer District Formation

Key Takeaways

  • •The county leaders can decide if a place without sewers needs a sewer system.
  • •They can create a new area (called a district) to take care of sewers if it's needed.
  • •This only applies to places outside city limits that don't already have a sewer district.

Example

A neighborhood in the countryside has no sewer system, and people are having problems with waste.

The county leaders can vote to make a new sewer district just for that neighborhood to fix the problem.
