§ 43107 Motorcycle Emission Standards

• •The state can set rules for how much pollution new motorcycles (1977 or newer) can make when sold in the state.
• •These rules started on July 1, 1976, or later if the state decided to change the date.
• •Motorcycles don’t have to follow the same pollution rules as cars (Section 43200 doesn’t apply to them).

You buy a brand-new motorcycle in 1978.

The motorcycle must meet the state’s pollution rules because it’s a 1977 or newer model. But it doesn’t have to follow the same rules as cars.
