§ 41320 Antelope Valley Air Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The Antelope Valley board makes rules to keep the air clean, but these rules can't break state or federal laws.
  • •The rules must be strong enough to meet California's clean air goals from a 1988 law.
  • •Old air pollution rules from before 2002 stay in place until the board changes or replaces them.

Example

A factory in Antelope Valley wants to build a new smokestack that releases dirty air.

The Antelope Valley board has rules to stop too much pollution. If the factory's smokestack breaks these rules, they can't build it unless they fix it to meet the clean air rules. The board's rules must follow California's big clean air law from 1988.
