Key Takeaways

  • •Board members get paid up to $200 per day for meetings or work, but no more than $2,000 per month.
  • •If they want to pay themselves more than $100 per day or $1,000 per month, they must vote on it in a public meeting.
  • •Their pay can go up by 5% each year, or by up to 10% starting in 2025 if inflation goes up that much.
  • •They can’t set up automatic pay raises for themselves in the future.

Example

They can get paid $200 for the meeting and $50 back for their expenses. But if they want to pay themselves $150 per day next year, they have to vote on it in a public meeting.
