§ 40101 County District Funding Agreements

Key Takeaways

  • •The county can give money to a county district, and this money must be kept in the district's treasury.
  • •The county must pay for any money it gives to the district—it’s a required expense.
  • •The county and the district can make deals to share things like offices, legal help, or health insurance.
  • •These deals can include services the county already gave the district before July 1, 1994.

Example

A county gives $50,000 to a local school district to help with repairs.

The county must keep this money in the school district’s account, and the county can’t take it back. The county can also agree to share its lawyers or offices with the school district if they make a deal.
