§ 39604 Air Quality Reporting Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The state must share air quality info online every two years (by January 1 of odd years).
  • •They must show how clean or dirty the air is in different areas and if it's getting better or worse.
  • •They must list any rule changes, research, or big actions taken to improve air quality.
  • •They must explain what the state is doing to control pollution from cars and other sources.

Example

Imagine you live in a city where the air sometimes looks smoggy. You want to know if the air is getting cleaner or dirtier over time.

The state has to put a report online showing if your city's air is improving, how many times the air was too dirty in the last two years, and what they're doing to fix it. This helps you know if the air is safe to breathe.
