§ 34248 Housing Authority Powers Transfer

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city or county already has a housing group and joins a bigger housing group, the bigger group takes over all the jobs and powers of the smaller one.
  • •All the stuff the smaller housing group owned, like buildings or money owed, now belongs to the bigger housing group.
  • •Workers from the smaller housing group keep their jobs and rights, just like they worked for the bigger group all along.

Example

A small town has its own housing group that helps people find homes. The town joins a bigger housing group that covers many towns.

The bigger housing group now takes over all the jobs, like helping people find homes, and owns all the buildings the small town's group had. The workers from the small town's group keep their jobs with the same pay and benefits.
