§ 33814 Redevelopment Property Value Benefits

Key Takeaways

  • •Some areas get better because of redevelopment projects, like fixing up old buildings or adding parks.
  • •These projects can make property values go up in those areas.
  • •The money for these projects often comes from loans taken by the agencies in charge.

Example

A neighborhood has old, run-down buildings and empty lots. The city decides to fix it up by tearing down old buildings, adding new sidewalks, and building a park.

Because of these changes, the houses in the area become more valuable. The city paid for these improvements by borrowing money.
