§ 33381 Owner Participation Failure Consequences

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city has a plan to improve a neighborhood and lets property owners join in, but the owners don’t agree to the rules, the city can switch to a backup plan.
  • •The backup plan takes over if the owners don’t cooperate with the original plan.
  • •The city makes the rules for how owners can participate in the improvement plan.

Example

Imagine your neighborhood is old and needs fixing up. The city says, 'We’ll help you repair your houses if you follow our rules.' But if you and your neighbors say no, the city can use a different plan to fix up the area without your help.

The city gives you a chance to work with them to improve your neighborhood. If you don’t agree to their rules, they can switch to another plan to get the work done.
