§ 33374 Redevelopment Plan Building Permits

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city decides to redevelop an area, they have to tell people about it.
  • •For two years after the plan is made, anyone asking for a building permit in that area must be warned that their property is in a redevelopment zone.
  • •The warning comes from the city's building department when you apply for the permit.

Example

You want to build a new house in your neighborhood.

If the city has a plan to redevelop your neighborhood, when you ask for a permit to build your house, the city must tell you that your property is in a redevelopment area. This way, you know that changes might be coming to the area.
