§ 33202 Community Redevelopment Commission Duties

Key Takeaways

  • •A special group called a 'community redevelopment commission' can be created to help fix up parts of a city.
  • •This group makes a plan for how to improve a specific area, like fixing old buildings or making neighborhoods safer.
  • •They have to hold meetings to listen to what people think about the plan before finalizing it.
  • •The city government can give this group more jobs to do if they want.

Example

A neighborhood has a lot of empty, run-down buildings and the city wants to make it nicer.

The community redevelopment commission would create a plan to fix up the buildings, like turning them into new homes or parks. They would hold meetings to hear what the neighbors think before sending the plan to the city government for approval.
