§ 33110 Agency Member Appointment Process

• •The city or county leaders can decide to create a special group (agency) to help with certain problems.
• •The mayor or board chair picks 5 people from the community to be in this group. These people must live in the area and can vote.
• •Sometimes, the group can have 7 people instead of 5 if the leaders decide that’s better.
• •If they choose to have 7 people, the group will always stay at 7 members.

A small town has a lot of old buildings that need fixing up. The town leaders want to make a group to help decide how to fix them.

The town mayor picks 5 people who live in the town to be in this group. Later, the town leaders decide 5 people aren’t enough, so they make the group bigger—now it has 7 people instead. These 7 people will keep working together to fix up the old buildings.
