• •This law only applies to the Chowchilla Memorial Hospital District and other small hospital districts (with less than 100 beds) that have teamed up with Chowchilla.
• •These hospitals can hire local doctors to work for them.
• •If a doctor makes a mistake and hurts someone, the hospital district is responsible, not the doctor.

A small hospital in a town near Chowchilla hires a local doctor. While treating a patient, the doctor makes a mistake that causes harm.

Because the hospital hired the doctor, the hospital is responsible for the mistake, not the doctor personally. The patient can seek help from the hospital district.
