§ 18026 Manufactured Home Compliance Labels

Key Takeaways

  • •All mobile homes and similar vehicles made after September 1, 1958, must have a special sticker showing they meet safety rules.
  • •Older mobile homes can also get this sticker if they meet safety rules that were in place when they were made.
  • •It is against the law to remove this sticker without permission from the government.

Example

You buy an old trailer home from 1960 to live in.

The trailer must have a special sticker showing it was checked for safety. If the sticker is missing, the seller might have broken the law by removing it without permission.
