§ 16107 Public Agency Cost Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •Big schools and government groups in California should try to save money over time when they buy or build things.
  • •They should think about the total cost of something, not just the price right now.
  • •The rules don’t apply to the University of California unless they decide to follow them.

Example

A school needs to buy new computers for students.

Instead of just picking the cheapest computers, they should think about how long they’ll last, how much it costs to fix them, and how much electricity they use. This way, they save more money in the long run.
