§ 14910 Property Owner Assessment Objections

Key Takeaways

  • •The board must listen to the report about fixing a problem at the set time.
  • •Property owners who might have to pay for the fix can say if they don’t agree.
  • •The board has to consider what the property owners say before making a decision.

Example

A neighborhood has a big ditch that needs to be filled to stop flooding. The city plans to charge nearby homeowners for the work.

The city board holds a meeting to talk about the ditch-fixing plan. Homeowners can go to the meeting and say if they think it’s unfair to make them pay. The board has to listen to them before deciding what to do.
