§ 131353 Pool Safety Data Reporting

Key Takeaways

  • •The government must write a report by January 1, 2026, about how they are collecting data on pool safety and what they found in a test program.
  • •They have to ask people who care about pool safety (like experts or families) for their ideas before writing the report.
  • •The report must include suggestions on how to make pools safer for everyone in the state and local areas.
  • •By January 1, 2027, they must write another report with more details on how to keep collecting data about kids drowning and how to stop it from happening.

Example

Imagine your town has a lot of pools, and kids sometimes get hurt or drown. The government wants to make sure pools are safer.

The law says the government has to check how they are collecting information about pool accidents and ask experts and families for their ideas. Then, they have to write reports explaining how to make pools safer and how to keep track of accidents in the future.
