§ 131135 Probation Compliance Costs

Key Takeaways

  • •If you break the rules in Section 131130, the court can make you pay for the costs of checking if you followed the rules, instead of paying a fine.
  • •The total amount you have to pay cannot be more than the biggest fine for the crime you committed.
  • •The money you pay goes to the local health department or the state, depending on who spent the money to check on you.

Example

A restaurant owner doesn't follow food safety rules and gets caught.

Instead of just paying a fine, the court might make the owner pay for all the times the health department came to check the restaurant and make sure they fixed their problems. The owner can't be charged more than the biggest fine allowed for breaking food safety rules.
