§ 129820 Hospital Construction Contract Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Any contract to build or change a hospital must follow special rules to be valid.
  • •The plans must follow California's building rules and get approval from the state.
  • •The hospital must be easy for people with disabilities to use.
  • •The plans must also follow fire and safety rules to keep people safe.

Example

A city wants to build a new hospital wing.

Before they can start building, they must make sure the plans follow all the state's building and safety rules. They also need to get approval from the state. If they don't do this, the contract isn't valid, and they won't get paid for the work.
