§ 129090 Health Facility Loan Insurance

Key Takeaways

  • •Cities, towns, or non-profit groups can ask the state for insurance on loans to build or fix health places like hospitals.
  • •To apply, they must fill out forms the right way and pay a fee.
  • •The fee is half of 1% of the loan amount, but never more than $500.
  • •The money from fees helps pay for the office that handles these requests.

Example

A small town wants to build a new clinic but needs a loan. They ask the state to insure the loan so it’s safer for the bank.

The town fills out the state’s forms and pays a fee based on the loan amount. If the loan is $200,000, the fee is $1,000 (but since $500 is the max, they only pay $500). The state uses this fee to run the program.
