§ 128795 Civil Service Employee Transfer

Key Takeaways

  • •If you worked for the California Health Facilities Commission on December 31, 1985, and were not a temporary worker, you were moved to a new department.
  • •Your job, position, and rights stayed the same after the move, just like before.
  • •The rules of the State Civil Service Act still apply to you, unless your job is one of the few that doesn’t follow those rules.

Example

Imagine you worked as a nurse for the California Health Facilities Commission in 1985, and your job was not temporary.

Because of this law, you would keep your job as a nurse but now work for a different department. Your pay, job title, and benefits would stay the same, and you’d still follow the same work rules as before.
