§ 128370 Donor Anonymity Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone gives money to the department and asks to stay anonymous, the department can keep their name a secret.
  • •This rule is stronger than other laws that might say names must be shared.
  • •The department can hide any papers or records about the donation if the donor wants to stay unknown.

Example

A rich person donates $1,000,000 to a state program but doesn’t want anyone to know it was them.
