§ 123735 Sids Education And Training

Key Takeaways

  • •The law is about teaching people how to help families when a baby dies from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).
  • •Special training is given to doctors, nurses, police, and others who work with sad families after a SIDS death.
  • •Books and papers about SIDS are made for people like priests, firefighters, and funeral workers to help them support families.
  • •The training and books only happen if the government has money for it.

Example

A baby sadly dies from SIDS. The parents are heartbroken and confused.

The law makes sure the hospital nurses and police who talk to the parents know the right things to say and do. They get special training so they can help the family kindly. The nurses might give the parents a book about SIDS to help them understand what happened.
