§ 116048 Pool Maintenance Records Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If you run a public swimming pool in a small neighborhood (less than 25 homes), you must check and record the pool's safety info at least twice a week, with no more than 4 days between checks.
  • •You have to follow the safety rules from Section 65523 of Title 22 of the California Administrative Code.
  • •If any other rule from the department conflicts with this, it doesn’t count.

Example

You live in a small neighborhood with 20 homes, and there’s a public pool. You’re in charge of the pool.

You must check the pool’s safety stuff (like chlorine levels and cleanliness) and write it down at least twice a week. For example, you could check it on Monday and Thursday. If you don’t do this, you’re breaking the law.
