§ 111480 Prescription Drug Labeling Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •Prescription drugs don't need all the usual labels if they have the right info on them.
  • •The label must include the drug name, how to use it, the patient's name, the doctor's name, and other key details.
  • •This rule doesn't apply to drugs sold by mail or if the prescription is illegal.

Example

You go to the pharmacy to pick up your asthma medicine.

The bottle doesn't need all the extra labels as long as it has your name, the doctor's name, how to take it, and other basic info.
