§ 111185 Spring Water Labeling Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company's name has words like 'spring,' 'well,' or 'natural,' but the water doesn't come from there, they must say where it really comes from.
  • •The label or sign must be as big as the company's name on the bottle or machine.
  • •If the store doesn't give labeled bottles, they must put up a sign where everyone can see it.

Example

A company called 'Mountain Spring Water' sells bottles, but the water actually comes from a city tap.

They must put a label on each bottle saying 'From city water' in letters as big as 'Mountain Spring Water.'
