§ 110400 False Advertising Prohibition

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't sell or buy food, medicine, or makeup that lies about what it does.
  • •If someone tries to sell you fake medicine that says it cures everything, it's against the law.
  • •The same rule applies if you try to sell something like that to others.

Example

A company sells a pill that claims to make you lose 20 pounds in a week, but it doesn't work at all.

This is illegal because the company is lying about what the pill can do, and they can't sell it or trick people into buying it.
