This law defines who a 'customs broker' is in the state. A customs broker is someone who helps people who deal with controlled substances, like medicines that are tightly controlled by the government.

Key Takeaways

  • •A customs broker helps people who sell, distribute, or have controlled substances.
  • •They help even if the substances are coming from another state.
  • •They also help if the substances are just passing through this state.

Example

Imagine a company in another state wants to send some strong painkillers to a hospital in this state.

A customs broker would be the person who helps make sure this shipment follows all the rules and gets to the hospital safely and legally.
