§ 102910 Tribal Health Study Contracts

This law says the department should team up with a recognized tribe, tribal group, or Indian‑run health organization that is good at handling records for a three‑year study.

Key Takeaways

  • •The department must look for a tribe or Indian health organization that the state already trusts.
  • •The chosen partner must be good at records management.
  • •This partnership is for a three‑year study required by another law.

Example

The state health department wants to run a three‑year study on heart disease and decides to hire a tribal health clinic that has a solid record‑keeping reputation.

Because the law encourages working with a tribe or Indian health group that the department trusts, the department can contract that clinic to manage all the study’s records.
