§ 101657 Central Coast Hospital Definitions

This law just tells you what certain words mean when talking about the Central Coast Hospital Authority and health care places in Monterey County.

Key Takeaways

  • •The Central Coast Hospital Authority is the main agency being talked about.
  • •The Board of Supervisors runs the whole county, while the Board of Trustees runs the Authority.
  • •The "Medical center" is the Natividad Medical Center and its programs.
  • •Anything else that provides health care in the county is called an "other health care facility" and does not include the Medical center.

Example

A new clinic wants to work with the Natividad Medical Center and asks if it counts as an "other health care facility".

The law says "other health care facility" means any hospital or health program in Monterey County except the medical center, so the new clinic would be an "other health care facility" and would follow the rules for those facilities.
