§ 8275 Commission Funding And Donations

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission can take money or help from anyone, like people, companies, or groups, to do their job.
  • •They can ask for money or free stuff from charities, businesses, or others to help with their work.
  • •They must make a plan to get more money from private people so they don’t rely only on the state’s money.
  • •There’s a special fund in the state treasury for the commission, but they can only use the money if the government says it’s okay.

Example

If a rich person wants to give $100,000 to help kids in the community, the commission can take that money to use for their programs.

The commission can accept gifts like this to help pay for their work, as long as the government approves how they spend it.
