§ 8268 Commission Advisory Role Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission only gives advice, it doesn't make rules or force anyone to do anything.
  • •The state or other groups don't have to follow the commission's advice unless a new law says they must.
  • •This rule started in 2022 and will end in 2030.

Example

Imagine a group of teachers and parents meet to talk about school rules.

They can listen to the commission's ideas, like 'kids should have more recess,' but they don't have to do it unless the government makes a new law saying 'all schools must give kids more recess.'
