• •This main clerk can hire other workers (like assistants, librarians, etc.) but needs most of the Supreme Court judges to agree.
• •The Supreme Court decides what jobs these workers do and how much they get paid.

If the Supreme Court needs a new librarian to help with books and research, the main clerk can hire one, but only if most of the judges say it's okay.

The main clerk doesn’t make big decisions alone—they need the Court’s approval to hire extra help, and the Court also sets the pay and job rules.
