§ 68751 Witness Attendance Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government is investigating something or having a formal meeting, they can make people from anywhere in the state come to talk about it.
  • •You only have to go if you live in the state when they ask you to come.
  • •If you don’t live in the state, they can’t make you come.

Example

The government is investigating a big problem at a factory in Los Angeles. They want a worker who used to work there but now lives in San Francisco to come and talk about what they saw.

The worker has to go because they still live in California. But if they had moved to another state, like Nevada, they wouldn’t have to go.
