§ 67870 Base Authority Dissolution Timeline

Key Takeaways

  • •The group in charge of the old military base will stop existing when 80% of the base is rebuilt or used in a new way, as planned.
  • •If 80% isn't rebuilt, the group will still stop existing after 20 years.
  • •When the group stops, the local government will make sure all promises, contracts, and money owed are taken care of.
  • •Any stuff the group owns will be given to the right people or places.

Example

Imagine an old army base that is being turned into houses, parks, and shops.

The group managing this project will close when most of the base (80%) is turned into these new things. If it takes too long (more than 20 years), the group closes anyway. The local government will then make sure all the group's bills are paid and any leftover tools or land go to the right owners.
