§ 53874 Assessment Deed Evidence Rule

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have a deed or agreement, it usually means everything was done the right way when the property was assessed and sold.
  • •This paper is like proof that all the steps were followed correctly.
  • •If someone questions if things were done right, this paper helps show they were.

Example

You buy a house and get the deed.

The deed shows that everything was done the right way when the house was sold to you. If someone says something went wrong, the deed helps prove it didn’t.
