§ 53176 Procedural Errors Validation

Key Takeaways

  • •Small mistakes or missed steps by officials won’t cancel out decisions or agreements under this law, as long as there’s no fraud.
  • •The law is meant to be flexible to achieve its goals.
  • •Even if someone forgets a step or makes a minor error, the process or agreement still counts.

Example

A city official forgets to sign a paper when approving a new park project.

The mistake won’t stop the park from being built because the law says small errors don’t ruin the whole process.
