§ 37386 City Harbor Land Leases

Key Takeaways

  • •Cities can rent out water and nearby land for big work projects.
  • •These projects can be for factories, fixing up harbors, or building docks.
  • •The work must help boats move around or help businesses near the water.
  • •The city decides what’s okay, as long as it’s good for the harbor.

Example

A city wants to build a new dock for fishing boats.

The city can rent out the water area to a company to build and take care of the dock. This helps boats come and go easily and is good for local fishing businesses.
