§ 36932 Mayor'S Ordinance Signing Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The mayor must sign city rules, and the city clerk must confirm it.
  • •If the mayor signs digitally, the clerk can assume it's real if it follows the rules in Section 16.5.
  • •This law doesn’t change how the clerk checks other digital signatures.

Example

The mayor signs a new city rule about parking using a digital signature.

The city clerk checks the digital signature and, if it follows the rules, confirms it’s really from the mayor.
