§ 3549 Public School Employer Authority

• •This law says that public school bosses can still make the final call on certain work rules, even if they talk with workers' groups.
• •It doesn’t force schools to follow the same rules as other jobs in Labor Code Section 923.
• •If schools and worker groups make a deal following the rules, no court can say it’s invalid just because of this law.

A school and its teachers' group agree on new rules for lunch breaks.

Even if the deal is different from other jobs' rules, the school can still say 'yes' or 'no' to it, and no court can cancel the deal just because of this law.
